My first comic (so don`t be too critcal),  drawn  in order of a projekt in “Cova da Moura” an suburb area near lisbon, similar to a ghetto. The people who live there, most of them from Cape Verde and the rest of Africa, have  to deal with an area in a very bad condition. Cova da Moura also not enjoys the best reputation in Lisbon and in the media.
For my analyses the most significant thing is, that people spend most of the time on the streets, the most important public space in this case. And thats whats the comic is all about.

Die ersten zwei Seiten aus meinem Skizzenblock. Danach war mein schwarzer Uni-Ball-Stift äußerst leer. Ich widme das erste (obere Bild) Anna, denn sie hat etwas ähnliches (viel geileres) auf die Unterlagen wärend dem Filmdreh zu “Bruchstücke” gezeichnet. Blöderweise habe ich dann das Bild mit den Unterlagen entsorgt? Also Anna -> this one is for you! Sorry das ich deines versehentlich vernichtet habe? Oder gibts das noch? Greetz Matthias.

Von Gelsen geplagt zeichneten wir im Sommer 2005 in Vies, Kroatien diese Comic Serie. Die Hauptfigur “Bert”, ein sympathischer Looser, nimmt darin immer ein sehr ähnliches Ende. Eine Wunschvorstellung wenn man an die Realität denkt. Barbara Heier, Matthias Jäger
