Was passiert wenn Grenzen fallen, abgezogen oder neu- und nachgezogen werden? Die Intervention im Museum im alten Zeughaus und dem Büro der Erinnerungen untersucht diese Fragestellungen indem die Beteiligten künstlerisch archivierend unterschiedliche Grenzsituationen aufzeigen und besprechen: soziale und politische Trennlinien, architektonische, räumliche, geographische und künstlerische Bruchstellen.

“Duelity” ist eine Videodokumentation, erstellt von Marcos Ceravolo und Ryan Ulrich,beide Studenten an der “Vancouver Film School”. Bei ihrer Dokumentation stellen sie die Entstehung der Welt aus zwei Perspektiven dar. Man kann die Videos einzeln oder gegenübergestellt ansehen. Die Arbeit ist grafisch sowie auch inhaltlich sehr schön ausgearbeitet und es lohnt sich auf jeden Fall einmal reinzuschauen. http://www.duelity.com
Back from New York, I spent most my money for artbooks. Now I want to tell you about one of my favorite Illustrators: James Jean is terribly good in what he is doing, and what makes people like me so insecure is, that this guy is very young - born in 1979, later he studied Illustration at the School of Visual Arts in New York and now he is so popular in the szene that he cant take any assignments until July 2008. He did comicovers for comics such as Fables and a lot of theme based illustrations for magazines. Beware of this man, because his stuff is wonderful. If you look trough his sketches on his website youll find out that he visited Graz and Vienna.

Seit 1996 sammelt das Internet Archive freie Filme, Musik und Software. Einen Blick auf die Seite sollte jeder mal riskieren, bei über 100 TB Filmen ist für jeden was dabei, zB.: Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin und Fritz Lang. Empfehlenswert ist auch der Streifen “Night Of The Living Dead” aus dem Jahre 1968.

Mittels einer massenproduzierten Loop-Box (Buddamachine) haben Christiaan Virant and Zhang Jian, oder besser bekannt als FM3, eine komplett neue Form von elektronischem Release geschaffen. Anstelle einer Compilation werden hierbei nur sechs Loops auf einem solchen - recht billigem - Gerät gespeichert. Man kann sich gewissermaßen seine Soudscapes selber basteln. Das deutsche Lable Staubgold vertreibt die Buddamachine inkl. einer Compilation Cd, wo auch einige Tracks darauf sind. Auf der Webseite von Monolake (Robert Henke) kann man einen Mitschnitt eines Liveacts, den er für den Club Transmediale gemacht hat, downloaden.

Here a short text about the platform and its goals…
parasite-net aims at raising the public awareness of artists and designers, through providing them with their own web space on the parasite-net platform in order to help to present them to a wider public.
The platform parasite-net should serve as a database of artists and designers and it is striven for it to become a tool for professionals out of the art and design sector used to discover new talents. On the other hand it can also be used in order to get information on new works of specific artists and their exhibition schedule.
Participants who already have their own website and who want to use parasite-net for an additional presentation possibility in order to belong to a larger community of artists and designers are welcome as well as those, who want to use parasite-net for their first presentation in the internet.
As a database for artists and designers parasite-net does not claim to be the sole place that can be consulted for data about artists and designers but rather aims at networking different existing platforms and provide the possibility to get connected to each other.
There exist various platforms for the art and design sector however; so far they do not seem to be functioning satisfactorily. Either the information seems to be out of date or the content of the platforms is very poorly structured and not very practical and user-friendly.
parasite-net aims to avoid these faults by giving artists and designers the chance to keep their sites up to date by themselves. In each account that the members generate an easy-to-use form is provided where members can fill in basic data and furthermore there exists a simple upload function in order to add images, video files, CVs, or news in your personal blog.
The name parasite-net has derived from a parable by the French philosopher Michel Serres in his book “The parasite“.
In this story a poor man stands outside a fancy restaurant and sees a rich man eating roast inside. The poor man smells the delicious roast and thinks to himself if he smells this wonderful odour of the roast a little longer his hunger will be gone and he will feel saturated.
Suddenly, the owner of the restaurant runs outside up to the poor man and says to him that he has to pay in order to stand here and smell the wonderful odour of the roast. Soon a heated argument evolves. A minute later another man passes by and offers to settle the dispute. He asks to the poor man for a coin and puts it on the floor. Then he starts to spin the coin so that it produces a mellow tone and he says:
“The roast is paid with money and the smell of the roast is paid with sound.“

meiner meinung nach das lustigste aus der animationskiste 2007
auf cracktv und youtube gibts ne massige collection mit geballtem zwerchfell hüpfen
Auch wenn der Artikel über die Comicbände von Marjane Satrapi nicht lange her ist (siehe weiter unten) möchte ich mich unbedingt kurz über den Animationsfilm “Persepolis” äußern, der seit kurzem im Kino läuft (bei uns im Geidorf): Ich habe schon seit langer Ziet nicht mehr so beeindruckende Bilder gesehn - das Comic wurde in dem Fall perfekt umgesetzt. Ich sehe keinerlei Kritikpunkte an diesem Film. In teilweise düsteren Schwarz/Weiß Tönen, rauhen, analogen Strukturen, und sehr graphisch wirkende Hintergründe, die oft an japanischen Holzschnitt erinnern, erzählt dieser Film von Marjanes Leben im Iran und in Wien. Teilweise sehr humorvoll, teilweise sehr emotional, teilweise sehr dramatisch erzählt, übertrifft dieser Animationsfilm beinahe das Comic selbst. Unbedingt anschaun- im Kino wirkt er sicher um einiges mehr als am Fernsehr.

Wenn man schnell mal eine gute Auswahl an Werkzeugspitzen braucht um was ornamental zu schmücken ist hier eine coole Seite mit einer großen Bandbreite an solchen. Die Verwendung ist zwar prinzipiell faul, aber die Geschwindigkeit spricht dafür… Arbeitszeit für obiges Bild, 3 Min.
